Sarah Dussault Learns about Life Well Laughed: Part 1

Posted on 4/27/2011 by Sarah Dussault // Filed in Fitness, lifestyle leaders, The Life Well Laughed Project // Comments: 1

This all started when The Laughing Cow approached me asking what I would do to give back, in light of their Life Well Laughed Project, which you should check out to see how you can help to give back to your communities through delightful snacking. Giving back is something I am passionate about. It ties the knot on my healthy lifestyle to complete the whole package. It not only brings emotional fulfillment, but brings an incredible sense of accomplishment that cannot be matched. Since I am active in my local community, I was given the opportunity to take part in a special experience, thanks to The Laughing Cow.

A film crew from Los Angeles came to my apartment on my birthday to shoot for the promotion. They set up what looked like a TV set in my living room. As a videographer myself, this was exciting in and of its self. They even brought a makeup artist to make me look my best on camera. I felt like a real TV star!

Once the lights and camera were in place, I sat down for an interview sponsored by The Laughing Cow. We spoke about why fitness was so important to me, why I work out and if I had more time what would I do. I of course said that I would love to be able to work more closely one-on-one with young girls promoting health and fitness.

I enjoy working with organizations that focus on the health and wellness of girls. I believe education is key, and teaching them early on will give them the tools they will need throughout the rest of their lives to keep healthy.

I was expecting the crew to come back the next day for a follow up interview. When Jill and the crew showed up at my doorstep the next day, I was shocked to find out they had found an amazing organization, Girls on The Run, that I was going to work with for the afternoon. I had read about GOTR before, but didn’t know they had a local chapter. I later found out it was only formed 9 months ago. The organization is a “national program that combines running games and workouts with a curriculum designed to encourage positive emotional, social, mental and physical development.”

Check back tomorrow to find out what happened next!
