Snacking is crucial to maintaining a well-balanced diet. Many dietitians and nutritionists recommend 5 meals a day: breakfast, a mid-morning snack, lunch, an afternoon snack and dinner. So, this week we’re featuring a few quick, tasty and waistline-friendly snack recipes to jazz up your meals.
Add some spice to your snack with Laughing Cow Light Queso Fresco and Chipotle on a bed of delicious veggies.
Ingredients
- 3 Tablespoons prepared bean dip
- 1 wedge of The Laughing Cow Light Queso Fresco & Chipotle
- 1 whole wheat flour tortilla
- 4 leaves lettuce
- ¼ cup of grapes or cherry tomatoes
Preparation
- Spread bean dip and The Laughing Cow cheese wedge evenly over the tortilla
- Tear lettuce into pieces and place on top of spread
- Serve with small handful of grape or cherry tomatoes, if desired
- Roll up tortilla and enjoy!
Whole Wheata Love
A snack that’s quick and easy to prepare that you and the kids will enjoy!
Ingredients
- 1 wedge of The Laughing Cow Light Swiss Original Cheese
- ½ whole wheat pita circle
- 3 whole grape tomatoes
Preparation
- Cut the pita into two pieces
- Spread cheese onto each piece
- Top each piece with one or two grape tomatoes
Slim Chip Dip!
A delicious, guilt-free way to enjoy dip, featuring one of our favorite flavors, Light Creamy Swiss!
Ingredients
- 2 wedges of The Laughing Cow Light Creamy Swiss
- ¼ teaspoon dill
- ¼ teaspoon dried onion
- ¼ teaspoon seasoning salt
- ¼ teaspoon garlic
Preparation
- Melt cheese for about 20 seconds or until “dippable”
- Add spices and mix for a few minutes
- Pair with pita chips, hummus, or another multi-grain carb for extra energy!
Cheesy Polka-Dot Dip
Make snack time tasty and fun again with Light French Onion Wedges!
Ingredients
- 2 whole wedges of The Laughing Cow Light French Onion Cheese
- ¼ teaspoon honey
- ¼ cup of fully cooked black Beluga lentils
- 1 tablespoon of roasted red pepper (diced small)
- 1 teaspoon fresh parsley, chopped
- Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
Preparation
- Combine cheese and honey in a small mixing bowl.
- Mix in lentils (do not mash!), roasted red pepper & parsley.
- Season with salt & pepper
- Use as a dip with your favorite vegetables or spread on crackers.
