Baking with Kids

Yay for winter break! The end of the year brings many reasons to celebrate and more opportunities to spend time with the kids. In my opinion, the Holidays are all about making memories. Here are 3 activities I’m planning to do with my little ones this month.

Bake Cookies

I have the best memories of baking holiday cookies with my mom and now that I’m a mom myself, it’s one of my favorite things to do. I actually have a video online of me and my son, when he’s 3, making Chocolate Oatmeal Walnut Cookies and have quite a few other cookie experiments on GreenLiteBites including: Chocolate Cookie Crisps, Molasses Cookie Balls and Not Your Grandma’s Chocolate Chip Cookies. All were made with the help of my son! Baking really is a great way to spend time and make memories with the kids, especially over the holiday season!

See a Show

With the holidays comes a whole host of opportunities to see a show, not a movie, but a show on STAGE!

There are always plenty of theatrical productions geared specifically for younger audiences in December. Check out your local venues on Ticketmaster.com and do something out of the ordinary over the Holiday Break.

Visit a Museum

With subjects like art, history and science, aquariums, gardens and even zoos are perfect learning destinations for you and your kids.  I’m sure your local community has plenty of options to get out and about during Holiday break. Need help? Check out MuseumSpot.com to search by state or specialty!

What’s your favorite Holiday break activity?
