The Summer Olympic Games are fast approaching, and what better motivation to be healthy is there than watching what these amazing athletes can do with their bodies? Yes, it can also be intimidating, but even if there are no Olympic medals in your future, look to these athletes for some creative inspiration to switch up your workout routine. Another way to follow their lead is to eat like an Olympian. Here are some ideas to fuel your new activities with some Olympian worthy snacks and meals.

Start Strong: Start your day with a simple and healthy start. Toast a whole-wheat bagel thin and spread on a wedge of Smooth Sensations Cream Cheese Spread. Top with blueberries and sliced strawberries for a hearty breakfast with a patriotic flair!

Gold-medal Appetizers: When planning to watch your favorite sports with friends or family, have some easy snacks on deck that are both nutritious and leave you with plenty of time to enjoy the action. Slice up some cucumber rounds and bell pepper triangle “chips” for a crisp and healthful salsa scooper, or serve with hummus for some extra protein and fiber. You could also try some of these snacking ideas Community Leader Sarah Kay Hoffman came up with!

Fish and chips: For a spin on this British favorite that’s fit for athletes, ditch the batter and go grilled. Grilled tilapia served with some roasted sweet potato fries is a leaner and vitamin-packed alternative to the typical pub grub. If you’re feeling bold, serve with a side of “mushy peas” for some added color and authenticity!
