Not much could be better on a cold day than this hot, grilled fruit and cheese sandwich. Okay, winning the lottery would be better – yeah, like that’s gonna happen. Go with the sandwich – it’s a sure thing, especially when you top it off with our delicious Mini Babybel® cheese. Easy dinner recipes don’t get any easier – or cheesier!
Heat a 10-inch non-stick fry pan over medium-low heat.
Spread butter on one side of each slice of bread.
Place the bread slices in the pan, buttered side down.
Slice each cheese in half lengthwise.
Arrange cheese halves on one slice of bread without overlapping.
Spread fig preserves on the other slice.
Shingle apple slices atop cheese halves.
Check the underside of the bread to gauge browning. Adjust heat as needed.
When bread is crispy and golden brown, using a spatula, invert the slice with the fig preserves to meet the sliced apples.
Total grilling time should be approximately 5 minutes.
Remove from heat and transfer to a cutting board.
Allow to cool for 1 to 2 minutes and cut in half with a serrated knife.
